• 2008 Scholarships
  Applications must be completely filled out and mailed to the Scholarship Chairman Mike Villa (411 Wellington Rd., Mineola, NY 11501).
  You must be a paid member in good standing for years 2007/08. Your dependent child must be entering the first year of an Accredited Undergraduate College during September 2008. Only one child per family may win (per year), however more than one student per family may apply. Students attending college tuition free are not eligible.
      Entry Fee: $10.00 payable to 'The Shields - Long Island'
      Entry Deadline: April 20, 2007
      Drawing: April 26, 2007 at general meeting

• 2008 Special Needs Award
  Applications must be completely filled out and mailed to the Scholarship Chairman Mike Villa (411 Wellington Rd., Mineola, NY 11501).
  Please indicate 'Special Needs Award' on application.
  Handled confidentially, this award will be presented to a dependent child of a fully paid member in good standings for years 2007/08, who is Developmental and/or Physically Challenged. Child must be attending a state recognized program, be it at work, training or school program, for the Developmental and/or Physically Challenged.
  Previous award recipient are not eligible.
      Entry Fee: $10.00 payable to 'The Shields - Long Island'

• 2008 Joan Petito Special Child Camp Award
  Applications must be completely filled out and mailed to The Shields - Long Island (35 Clark Ave, Massapequa, NY 11735).
  This award handled confidentially will be presented to a dependant child of a Shields fully paid member for the present and two prior years. Members may also enter a relative's child, as long as the member qualifies (proof of relationship may be requested).
  The dependant child must be Developmentally and/or Physically Challenged and attending a state recognized summer camp for the Developmental and/or Physically Challenged to be eligible for the award.
  Winner, at their discretion, may be announced at the June meeting.
      Entry Fee: $10.00 payable to 'The Shields - Long Island'
      Entry Deadline: June 20, 2007
